This week: Camping and Guns

I feel like I am finally back in the swing of things with home and work after sickness’ and vacations.  We are all doing well.  Did my last snowmobile trip a week ago.  Was a great year for snow, and had a really good time with some cool guys.  Got to know a few of our neighbors as well when I invited them along.  Adyson is still loving school and every chance she gets to play with friends.  Jenny is wondering when playing house will ever stop but is having fun watching the kids grow and learn.  She is doing great and is such a wonderful mother and wife.  I am grateful that she can stay home although I sure she would love a trade every now and and then.  Jenny is working with the young women and liking it.  She teaches every other sunday.  I am working with the 11 year old scouts.  Compared time wise to what I was doing I am loving it!  I love it for other reasons as well, the boys are on fire. They love it and want to do it.  I remember a few weeks ago we camped in the snow and as we were driving home I mentioned since it is Saturday we could skip this Tuesday’s patrol meeting.  They immediately piped up and said “No I’m good, I can come Tuesday.”  When ever I ask them what they would like to do next it invariably is a camp out.  So they planned one for the past Friday night.  We just went down the hill in the river bottoms.  Really easy and close.  We were in some trees and they played with the Airsoft guns.  That night we heard some sort of animal yelling or crying.  Couldn’t figure it out so we grabbed the flashlights and the scouts grabbed the guns saying they could use it on the animal or the “Hobo” that lived there.  We found a cat and assumed it was the one.   On the way back one of the dads said he would hide in the trees to scare them so I got them ready and walk them down the trail.  When he came running out of the trees they were so scared, yet while screaming they turned and started shooting.  Wade is yelling “Ouch, ouch ouch!!!”  I guess the air soft bullets can hurt a little.

I just got a new gun.  I’m not really a gun person but was fun to take it out with some friends who are.  Shot some skeet as well as other big and small guns.   Not a bad shot if I say so myself.
Saturday we went to Park City for a little drive and some get out time.  Beautiful day but a little cold.  Surprised it snowed this morning.  I keep thinking we are done with Winter.  Ah well, carry on.
